  1. Hello there Danella,
I had the same problem and it wasn't until seeing Ewan that I was inspired to do something about it. Now after a lot of work it is a quality interactive space... less than 200 hits in the first year and now almost 900 hits last month! I try to blog every day, it is the kids work or experiences or comments or homework activities.
    so how to help...
Look at all blogs of the same type that you can find (interface have a good selection)and to begin with copy what others are doing. The interface ones are not always the best, but they are NZ classroom examples and if you have time and no life like I sometimes do search google for classroom blogs and you will loose an evening or two:)
Include rewards for certain postings, I had a $2 book prize for a photo competition, but you could include goodie bags with tre expensive treats in it?
Check out my blog and see if that might help?

    See you next week

  2. Competitions are a great idea. Or set the students learning beyond the classroom tasks on the blog, then they have to read it to know what their homework is!

  3. Embedd maths/literacy games into your blog and use these each day as part of your teaching toolbag. Another good idea I have seen happening is going online each morning to see the hits you have had, where they have come from and what they have come onto your blog to see. You and the class can then decide on whether or not to contact these readers if there is other information that you could share.
I like the ideas offered by other bloggers regarding incentives to comment or post, that will get them going as it has with me ! Goodie bags sound very enticing.

  4. Hi there
I found the best way to get your blog going especially trying to get children invovled is by adding links to excellent games that kids can do at home or in class as a station. In design tab there is add a gadget then choose link list - add a list of numeracy and literacy games there and have it set up in class especially data projector as station. Kids will fight for it!! Send home link to blog every week. ictgames.com is perfect for getting started. Choose the game you want and copy and paste url into link list and you're away. email me if any probs. Happy to help if I can. Laetitia
