You've seen the Xmas decorations in the shops and no doubt are thinking about your upcoming holidays but i hope you are also all considering the e-Central 'Wishing you a Merry Central Xmas Competition'
The deadline for entries is Monday December 6 and schools can submit UP TO 15 entries in each category. There will be a prize for each school that submits more than 5 entries.
If you are interested in some ideas for ICT that could be used for the Central Christmas Story and Kiwi Christmas Carol, I ran a staff meeting last week and have posted the notes on the wiki.
These can also be accessed through this link
Ho, Ho, Ho!!!
I'm thinking of using Aviary Myna to create xmas jingles for the competition. Has anyone else used this before. I've had a go with the senior syndicate with varying degrees of success but I can see the potential in it. Myna is a bit like garageband, it has a great variety of styles, instruments etc so if you haven't already had a look pop in and take a tour. www.aviary.com
ReplyDeleteWhen I popped into a classroom to ask a teacher a quick question on Thursday I was greeted by a classroom full of excited students who were working on a set of eight laptops, creating Christmas cards for the e-central competition. The students were using comic life on both Mac and pc laptops! It was an awesome site to see and I was again inspired by what year 2 students can do, when given the learning opportunity.
ReplyDeleteThat is so exciting!! I cannot wait to receive the entries and am thrilled to hear that little people are harnessing these opportunities!
ReplyDeleteWe have just completed our christmas song using avairy myna. Fantastic tool. Year 1 kids wrote stories and we turned them into a song. We created music through avairy then did the recording. That was probably the scariest bit. Awesome experience for the kids.
